Untitled Poem is a typeface that blends Chinese calligraphy with Latin letters. Drawn with a traditional Chinese brush, it follows the ancient Chinese writing order from top-to-bottom and left-to-right, embodying the unique elegance of calligraphic forms. The typeface aims to bridge the differences and misunderstandings of Eastern Asia and Western cultures through two typographic languages.
The visual music score references Wang Wei, an ancient Chinese poet, and his seminal poem 鹿柴, translated into English as“Deep in the Mountain Wilderness”. The drawn poem was additionally translated into a musical score that abstracts in typeface into a composed song.
